Advantages of Using Herbal (self hypnosis) Supplements
By Paul Strachocki
For centuries, people all over the world have been using herbs as a form of natural remedy to illnesses and infections. Despite the huge developments in the industry of modern medicine, herbal supplements remain to be among the most preferred remedies all over the world for several reasons. For one thing, herbs are completely natural and result in a lot fewer side effects compared to modern medicine. Also, these herbs are actually very effective in treating various ailments.
These days, many herbs are known for their power to increase libido or improve the immune system. However, these are not the only things they are good for. In fact, for every known disease or infection today, there are probably a few different herbs that can be used to treat the condition. Herbal remedies are actually much common that people think. You may have even used a few herbal remedies without even realizing it. For instance, when you drink fresh orange juice to relieve a cold, or when you eat some prunes to get rid of constipation, you are actually using the power of herbal remedies to improve your health.
Arthritis is another common condition where the symptoms can be relieved using herbal medications. In lieu of the odorous ointments available in pharmacies, you can apply the nice-smelling borage oil or boswellia on affected areas instead. If you are finding it difficult to avail of these items, you can also use good old-fashioned ginger, which can readily be found in most people’s kitchens. When taking ginger to relieve the pain of arthritis, the recommended dosage is about 1500 mg daily, divided into three equal doses throughout the day. It is also interesting to note that ginger is also effective for soothing morning sickness and motion sickness.
Among the most popular herbal supplements today are ginkgo biloba and ginseng. Advocates of natural remedies rave about their benefits in curing just about any sickness in the world. They are quite versatile as herbal remedies but not quite as much as some people make them appear to be. Ginseng is great for the relief of extreme fatigue and lethargy, the improvement of mental functions, and the increase of libido. It is available in pills, teas and powders. Ginkgo biloba, on the other hand, is most effective for preventing memory loss and dementia. In fact, there have been a lot of studies that are looking into the benefits of ginkgo biloba for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.
Herbal supplements are not only good for physical ailments but for psychological disorders as well. Certain herbs such as St. John’s Wort and valerian have been proven to have positive effects on various psychological problems such as depression and anxiety.
Because of the high efficacy rate of herbal supplements, even practitioners of modern medicine recommend their use from time to time. The next time you suffer from a medical condition, try these herbal remedies first. You might be surprised at how effective they can prove to be.

Try Self Hypnotized Sleep for a Better Night of Rest
By Ross Pretorius
Getting good sleep is essential for a good quality of life. People who suffer from sleep disorder like difficulty falling asleep or waking up in the night can gain from being self hypnotized before bed.
The Importance of High-Quality Sleep
Lack of sleep can lead to all sorts of unpleasant effects and interfere with enjoyment of life. People who are repeatedly deprived of sleep often experience:
o Reduced concentration
o Poor memory
o Reduced motor coordination
o Weakened immune systems
Reasons for Sleeplessness
The reason most often linked to poor sleep patterns is stress, which can be a result of:
o overworking
o troubling psychological baggage
o financial difficulty
o other demanding factors
Loss of sleep due to stress is frequent. An assessment by the Better Sleep Council found that 51 percent of Americans report that stress regularly disturbs their sleep. Sporadic episodes of insomnia can be defeated with simple techniques of hypnosis. Individuals who become self hypnotized before bed are more relaxed and enjoy quality, deep sleep.
How to Sleep Better
These three steps are a great start to improving your quality of sleep. If your sleeplessness persists, see your doctor for a complete health evaluation and further guidance.
1. Consider your lifestyle. If you work day and night, paying no attention to signs of stress, schedule in a break for yourself. Clear your calendar for a day and dedicate it to relaxation.
2. Evaluate your sleep environment. Make the bedroom a quiet haven for rest. The hums of a computer, light from a bedside clock or environmental disturbances are all things that could reduce the quality of your deep sleep. Use a sleep mask and ear plugs if you have no control over environmental factors.
3. Go to bed self hypnotised. Many people go to bed with a “to do” list still running through their minds keeping the brain in an adrenaline-fuelled state that will never bring good sleep. Self-hypnosis is a easy, efficient way to calm the mind before sleeping.
Steps to Relaxation Through Self-Hypnosis:
o Lay on your back and close your eyes and arms naturally at your sides.
o Inhale deeply from the abdomen and count to eight. Exhale slowly as you count to eight again. Repeat for several rounds.
o Flex and release every muscle in sequence. Begin with your toes and work your way up, focusing on each muscle group.
o Remain focused on relaxing. Don’t allow your mind to amble. As thoughts arise, drop them and return your focus to your breathing.
o Count down from ten and imagine yourself descending into deeper relaxation as you go through each number. Don’t rush through the numbers; enjoy relaxing into each one.
o By the time you reach “one,” you should feel completely relaxed if not asleep. Increase the count to twenty until you fall asleep. Do this every night before bed and be patient. The results will be worth the effort.
